Hi. my name is Cory Fisk, and I'm a professional barrel racer from Valley Springs, California.
At 14 years old, I started a summer business training horses and giving riding lessons to cowgirls as young as 3 years old up to 18 years old, right in the arena that my dad built me.
I traveled up and down the State of California and Northern Nevada, giving barrel racing, pole bending, and goat tying clinics to students wanting to build and improve their horsemanship skills.
From these experiences, I became the proud trainer of several high school rodeo champions and state champions, including multi-titled All Around Champions, State All Around Cowgirl Champions, and National Pole Bending Champion.
My experience with horses continued to open opportunities for me taking me to Lassen College and then on to Texas A&M University.
Today, I am able to continue my learning from some of the world’s best while also mentoring others and showing my appreciation for the sport by giving back through a series of short but very educational stories starting with – The Perfect Run: Barrel Racing With Purpose & Passion.

Barrel Racing Competition
This was at the 30th Anniversary of the Sharon Team Camarillo Western Region Barrel Racing Competition, on two home-bred and raised mares - Hopeful Money Maker & Tilly. This video features Tilly, a six year old mare out of the great, Lyndee & Lance Stair’s Stallion, Otro Fracaso AKA “Willy” from the Home of the World’s Best Barrel Horses Ranch in Hanford, CA. She is still being seasoned, so the goal is to be correct - the speed will come. As you can see in the video - correct, clean and smooth can also put together a winning time. We won the Reserve 2D Championship after running three smooth and consistent times.
